JJ releases new song and is joined in Tolbooth, Stirling by Declan Sinnott

Click on the soundcloud link below to find the first song I’ve released to let you all hear from the “The Jersey Sessions” recorded by Deimos Valerkou in Jersey of course which we’ll be releasing later in the summer. We’ve been looking for these sessions which actually predate sunnyside P.A.L for a good while and we’re finally getting there thanks to Deimos.

From previous years the shows had rave reviews ticket info can be found here Patsy Cline Next Phil, Graeme, Stevie Kip and I will return to Portpatrick where for the second year running I’ll be hosting Portfest a weekend of music and craic. Tickets for the weekend gathering which takes place on February 28th & March 1st can be found here Portfest Next Phil and I perform at The Harbour Arts centre in Irvine, we haven’t played this venue for 5 years or so and we’re really looking forward to entertaining our friends in Ayrshire coast again. Tickets for this show which takes place on March 7th can be found here HAC Then Phil and I move onto my hometown Coatbridge for it’s annual St Patricks day festival. This year I thought I’d make things a bit different so as well as my own songs I’m going to perform a host of my favourite Irish songs so look out for a bit of Christy Moore and some old classics. Tickets for this show on March 15th can be found here St Patricks festival I look forward to catching up with you at some of these shows.

JJ performs in Morag Fullarton’s Play ” A bottle of wine & Patsy Cline”

JJ will perform for the first time in a play in the fantastic show “A bottle of wine & Patsy Cline. Read all about it below

“Never mind the wine, this show is better than a crate of champagne…!” 5 Stars – online theatre review.

Òran Mór is delighted to announce the return of it’s sell-out show about the life and music of singing legend Patsy Cline. After the tremendous success of the show’s first run we have brought the original team together to perform this terrific musical play for another 11 nights in February.

The show charts the fascinating, but tragically short life of Patsy Cline and includes all her best known hits such as Crazy, Sweet Dreams, After Midnight and many more. Gail Watson takes the lead role as Patsy and here’s what the critics said of her performance -

“Gail Watson sparkles every minute of the show with an amazing combination of musical and acting skills” Remotegoat.co.uk

“close your eyes and you’d believe you were listening to the real thing” The Herald

“Gail sings with breathtaking accuracy and feeling.. and has the audiences crying and cheering” The Scotsman

Written and directed by Morag Fullarton (of ‘Casablanca’ fame) and with musical arrangements by Dave Anderson, this promises to be another unmissable night, tickets are going fast so don’t miss out!

The 12 Performance Dates are February 6th – 9th, 13th – 16th and 20th – 23rd. Tickets are £18 and include a commemorative miniature bottle of wine and are available from TicketWeb or in person at Òran Mór.

Additional tickets for Glasgow show now on sale…

Thanks for your support and looking forward to playing this amazing venue again. Last time was really special and this one will be special.

New Glasgow date announced

We are delighted to announce that JJ will be playing a Glasgow show on Sat 25th January at the wonderful Glad Cafe in Shawlands in Glasgow’s Southside. This will be JJ’s second visit to this great venue which is run as a community co-operative for the benefit of the Southside.

We had hoped to be included in the Celtic Connections line up but it was not to be so we have set up this show for all those who keep asking why JJ does not play Celtic Connections.

Joining JJ will be the brilliant singer songwriter Crawford Smith. Crawford has been crafting his songs over the last few years and is a great performer. Crawford is well known in the Southside and it is a pleasure to have him on the bill.

Tickets are on sale now.
