Scottish singer songwriter JJ ‘Jinky’ Gilmour first tasted success as the front man with Scottish band The Silencers, learning his craft as the band toured exstensively, including with Simple Minds and U2, and enjoying great success across Europe.

After leaving the band, JJ found himself being being asked to join chart toppers East 17 and also fronted the ‘super’ group The Casbah Club which also featured the Jam’s Bruce Foxton and Big Country’s Mark Brzezicki & Bruce Watson, before securing himself a major solo deal.

Now firmly established as a solo artist with 4 studio albums under his belt, JJ has also enjoyed success with the hit musical Dancing Shoes, based on the life of footballer George Best.

Music aside, JJ is an outspoken advocate for mental health and especially for those suffering with depression. It is okay not to be okay.
